Really? Please give us some reasoning we can sink our teeth into. The "ISDN went nowhere, so ADSL is going nowhere" argument may not fly. The worldwide conspiracy of equipment suppliers, service providers and independent research firms, in the face of over 1 million lines in the US alone and the likes of Project Pronto, may not fly.

If ADSL is DEAD, as you say, then what lives? MSO's cable approach? Wireless? Or just no need for broadband in a world that is becoming all the more digitized?
