Gaps up or down have the same eventual predictable results in most cases. ie they get back filled

FWIW, Gary Smith, columnist on thestreet.com had some professor write to him about 9 mo. ago saying he had done some backtesting (maybe several months worth--not years worth, I think) and found that gaps got filled about 75% of the time.

Sounds like playing gaps provide great odds.
i.e. buy at 52 and sell into resistance at 55 ?
