I don't like our Liberal government, and unless you have been reincarnated and know something I don't, there is no "One True Religion". As for the Charter of Rights, it was not drafted on Religious principles, only beaurocratic principles. However, beaurocracy is so rampant in the civilized world that it in itself probably fits the definition of "religion". I congrat you on your following, and appreciate your reply. However, I realized last night that this "coffee talk" thing can easily dominate one's time, and I have tons of work to do. I am going to try very hard not to get bogged down in superfluous banter, because I need to make a living, first and foremost. The only way I will ever be able to retire is to work my little as- off for the next twenty years. I took offense to the manner in which you started this thread. Perhaps you have yet to meet the millions of benign believers who themselves look on the world and question God's wisdom in the chaos and suffering. Perhaps it was not intentional, but your choice of words in starting the thread has caused offense, and indeed would cause offense to those believers who truly walk in the light. I am an imperfect Christian who knows that my religion is not the only one, and not a perfect religion either. To paint all believers, or even the majority of believers with the same hurtful brush is insensitive. Indeed, the wars in Europe and the Middle East are wasteful and fruitless. Unfortunately, the "warring" itself has become a lifestyle, perpetuated throughout the ages such that the participants don't even really know why they are thus "engaged". I have Irish blood, and I have German blood. Neither the Irish wars nor Supremist Hitler-perpetuators gain my respect, I assure you. Hate is born out of fear. As an American, you no doubt know that even the Klu Klux Klan originated when a few guys got together for social interaction and moral support. It was not a "black-haters" club. In short order, a couple of the members began riding through town in costumes as a prank, trying to scare the locals. In a few short years, the movement that butchered and terrorized was born. Irony is part of our world, ain't it? The fact that the Klu Klux Klan uses "Amazing Grace" as their theme hymn (if you will) is blasphemy. "Amazing Grace" was written by a fellow who had for years engaged in the slave trade, and finally realized the wrong in his ways. He wrote the song as a tribute to freeing the slaves. And there is the Klu Klux Klan. They are such dumb clucks. Using a song (and raising their kids around their bigotry) that actually was written in SUPPORT of the blacks! It's all too ironic. Anyhoo, I will leave (as I said) to get some work done. Unlike Hitler, I don't have lots of spare time to sit in coffee shops, feeding on the weak's need to belong, ultimately causing more terror, pain and destruction than any of them could have possibly imagined in their naivety. History has shown that good intentions and "innocent" social manipulation can cause irreversible damage and unforgiveable suffering. THOSE things are not God's doing, but mankind's arrogance.
