elmatador, what is your point? That BT hasn't yet put the hardware in place to deliver to all the people that want it? That's not the claim made by the Alcatel representative. He said that DSL is TAKING OFF in earnest in Europe.

The buildout starts from the inside out.

Alcatel quoted the number of units produced and shipped. Who's buying them? Telcos, for their COs.

BT has been buying Fujitsu/WSTL equipment for their COs, too.

If you were impatiently awaiting the arrival of DSL then it's clear you would have a good chance of getting some in '01.

But you seem more bent on suggesting that the telcos should stop spending money on DSL, that the game is over.

Far from it. It's just beginning.

Perhaps you are engaging in wishful thinking, as per Lipolymer's gentle suggestion.

They're doing something with it... this qtr a doubling of TSG sales which supplies the ADSL deployment and some 50K modems at least!
