Hope AAPL can capitalize 10/18 on MOT & IBM's 10/10 PPC presentations

With AAPL's silence planned up to 10/18 earnings announcement hopefully its "Balkanized" AIM bros IBM and MOT, will have done AAPL proud at the 10/10 MP Forum.

The 10/18 earnings session could be a great opportunity for AAPL PPC (G4) showmanship and a lead into XMas selling season if something good comes out of the MP Forum.

Here's a description of MOT & IBM's 10/10 sessions:

-----
" Motorola will disclose its latest incarnation of their
G4 family of top-end PowerPC processors, injected
with a whopping big dose of go-juice in the form of
silicon-on-insulator (SOI)
technology.

This presentation will focus on the issues surrounding
the migration of G4 class microprocessor designs
to SOI as well as additional performance-enhancing architectural features."

IBM will be hawking its non-AIM POWER4:

-----
" At last year's Microprocessor Forum, IBM
disclosed a technological tour-de-force called the
Power4.
This year, the company will disclose the core architecture and pipeline. In addition, the presentation will discuss how the Power4 overcomes memory-latency problems."

MP Forum was mainly a pro INTC event but has come to accept other choices.

SOI is IBM's baby and now MOT is using the process for the G4 . Permits using the same form factor cutting both lead time and costs while upping performance 20-30%.

AAPL's use of a RISC processor has many advantages which needs to be better explained to offset X86 Mz disparity.

Hope the fabled AAPL showmanship is on for 10/18.
