I remember the time we were in college, we used to cry out in desperation: "We would understand a lot if he would not explain." That was long long time ago... but something would never change!!! Anyway, if the user has a faster connection than a regular 56K modem, the transfer rate between the user and the server would be faster, but the amount of time that the server allows for the user is still the same. No priority for the faster guys, thanks goodness <g>. Notice the bytes/second from qchart, next to the server's name. It does not change much (during trading hours) whether the user uses a 56K modem or a cable modem. It's the function of the server's speed. However, the fast modem will make the byte/second higher if server is not max out. About the optimum number of data in one workspace? Don't know. It depends on how busy the server is when the user requests the data. Me? I prefer to open more windows than sending one large pack of requests, and taking a chance of being suspend half way. If the user opens two windows, the user is allowed to send in twice as many requests. It's like having two reporters taking turns asking questions for the same network, assuming the speaker does not recognize them. Another advantages of having multiple windows is that the user can be in different servers. If one gets slow for some reasons, the other might still work fine. This preference surely is bad for quote.com, and slow down all the users in general as well, but I can't help sharing. Spank me for being dumb <g>. Is the mud settled <ggg>? pooh
