It has an extensible antenna and can be used with all GSM900 networks, choosing automatically between sat and GSM modes. The link I provided has this and all the other info. I learned that the extensible antenna is needed to extend the antenna element above one's head because the head may block the sat signal. The antenna element is a relatively small device at the end of the antenna connected to the phone via coax running the length of the antenna.
