RR--12/31 5000 target seems to rest on 3rd q announcements. a barrons article had comments from dell, cpq & gtwy suggesting apple's woes may be company specific. They saw box sales growing in mid teens for years to come. IF true, then at least several more "IF's" are needed to hit 5000...including--msft, csco, the above 3 box makers and many more techs must all meet or surpass for both earnings & revs...AND some positive rev guidance from intc must be given. This seems very unlikely. Intc is inside 85% of all computers and they stumbled badly. Now that apple has warned--the odds that intc's troubles don't signify slowdown are slim...kumar has not recanted on this. personally still 100% tech (mainly telcom infra, storage & high end chips) but history shows these will be tainted by the likes of intc...& apple?!
