Where do you live? Around here (Austin, Texas) the malls are packed.

Stephen, in the particular post you replied to, I was talking about servers, not PCs. As for TXN and NSM, the hyenas are talking down the cell phone market as well. You can't win right now. As for NSM, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. But that's JMO, of course.
BTW, Intel's Strongarm is getting into more and more handhelds. That's wireless too. And, I think you're overlooking the importance of servers in the Internet growth. Funny, but the company that, even though they're executing well right now, is not into any of the hot areas of notebook, servers, and handhelds, is AMD. It's like all dressed up and no place to go.

Tony

RE:"The bottom line is that Greenspan overplayed his hand and raised interest rates once too much and now 3 months later the proof is in the pudding. The entire retail sector, not only PC's,is suffering....just go to the malls"

Baloney.
What kicked us over the edge was the Cap Gains tax cut on Real Estate signed by Congress and Clinton. This wild card has been giving AG fits. People selling homes and pocketing $50k-100k-200k-300k tax free. This money being pumped into the ecomomy. No wonder AGs slow hikes didn't have any effect until gluttonous oil consumption kicked in.

You for forget that "our" economy is still accelerating...and if need be, AG can simply lower rates and stimulate...he has lots of room.
