kvkk,

That is very interesting. I once read an article
that said what you just said: That the military is
now run by political appointees and it has lead to
a widespread degredation of preparedness.

I did wonder how Pentagon spokesman Ken Bacon got
his job. He seems to be terribly incompetent. He
must have been a Clinton appointee.

Anyone who cares about the military should not vote
for Gore. There is a proposal in the UN which makes
the paranoia of the militias seem quite real. The
UN under Kofi Annan wants to take control of the
militaries of the world under the UN flag. This is
no joke. I know it sounds like some kind of black
helicopter rumor but its true. The UN also wants to
take control of all military war crimes tribunals.
This means that soldiers would be shipped off to some
UN court for trial. The US joined China in voting
against this absurd law...but most nations voted for
it! My guess is that Al Gore would probably transfer
a lot of control of our armed forces to the UN. He
really does believe in this "Global Village" stuff.

Interesting that you feel that there were some war
crimes committed in the Yugoslavia war. I agree. It was
a completely unjust war which also violated the charter
of NATO. Clinton's foreign policy has just been one
blunder after another. Bill Clinton has attacked more
countries than any other president in history. Every
one of his military actions has either been a failure
(Haiti, Somalia, Sudan), a stalemate (Iraq, Afghanistan)
or a quaqmire (Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Kosovo). In fact,
someone once pointed out that his only military victory
was when he went up against the draft board and he won
by getting a deferment via ROTC program at the University
of Arkansas and then not enrolling. Excellent!
