James, I appreciate the comments.

I will tell you I can be bad wrong sometimes also though. Like the time I shorted RMBS when it gapped up on 6/19. Lordy talk about the crooks doing a ramp job on me. I am short at 90 ish and they take it to 127 selling into it the whole time but still marking it up the whole time. I ended up having to box the trade at 100 (meaning I was short but bought equal amount on the long side) to stop the pain. Because of the gap I knew my short would EVENTUALLY be good .... but when? Anyway when I KNEW without a doubt the top was in I sold the long and let it fall until I was just a little better than breakeven then closed the short position and swore NEVER to fool with RMBS again. Why box the trade rather than covering the short, going long and shorting it again later? Because when the crooks are doing one like that you can't get short when it counts. This way all I had to do was sell the long and did not have to worry about them not letting me get short when it counted.

Then there was the time I was short MMCN. The most beautiful shorting chart I had seen in a long time. Well guess what AMCC announces they are buying MMCN. I am short at about 81 and it opens at 107 and change! Took my loss after it sold down a bit and went long AMCC because it was down 13+. Made a lot of the loss on the short back by going long AMCC but I swore never to short a little one like MMCN again. I only short stocks now like INTC, SUNW, GLW, MU etc. I may lose money on the short but I don't worry about buy outs. :-))

I tell about these just so any critics can't say that the only ones they hear about are the ones I make money on. I lose also but when I am on the wrong side I get out. I don't HOPE my way into a bigger loss.
