Sarmad: "strong environmental regulations did not harm the economy" I could not agree more. Necessity is indeed the mother of invention, and environmental law CAN drive innovation -- of course poorly conceived environmental law can make innovation impossible. I think the best environmental laws are enacted throught the market -- higher prices for stuff you don't want to waste and penalties for wasting stuff. Hawaii probably has the most gentle climate in the world -- but tiny bit on the warm side. But, you know, one fabulous day after another is repetitious :) Just put on the BBQ and watched the sun paint the sky before it slipped over the horizon -- can't complain.
