I read an article today that said Apple's main problem was that its hard-core followers have been saturated with new products. In other words, if Apple isn't expanding their market share or entering new niches there are only so many different products they can produce before sales drop off no matter how great the last one is. For example, if I bought improvement number two, will I be in the market for improvement number 4 six months later, no matter what it is?

If this is correct, then Apple's problems are fairly long term and company specific.
