Thanks to Seldom Blue for bringing the Bogle piece to our attention and to tekboy for providing the link for it. I couldn't help but notice that the piece is merely an excerpt from Bogle's book. People interested in more of his thinking should buy the book. He offers several methods of risk control. Using his metrics, the one I chose is to reduce risk by reducing equity risk. I took about 7 years' living expenses out of the equity markets. --Mike Buckley
