Tony,
RE:"To me, putting more resources into anything Rambus is throwing good money after bad. What good is some extra bandwidth if it's not high frequency/transmission line characteristically sound. The solution that works is always infinitely better than the one that doesn't. I feel like storming over to the Rambus thread and making a complete pain in the ass of myself. In fact, Jim, your summary would be very popular over there"

They already know me there...
From what I gather, no expert on the RAM, just trying to see the big picture....is that Rambus must have Intel by the cohon@s. Mighty Intel scared of RAMBUS? That's heavy.
Like entering into a pact with the devil. <G>

Intel must be scared to death to give any hint of developing a SDRAM or DDR chipset for P4. They did manage to come out with the i815 after the i820 and i840...so why didn't they start on a DDR or SDRAM chipset for P4 at the same time? Either they were stupid or scared.
VIA makes sense but what if Rambus claims conspiracy between Intel and VIA or another chipset maker...?
Rambus can make a living off the lawsuits.

Ok, maybe Intels dream of domination and greed got ahead of them...but still...and I warned of it before...
RAMBUS is a great example of sneaky Lawyering yet to hit the tech sector.

Jim

Hi Tony, RE:"Thank lucky stars no Rambus in notebooks or servers. "

LOL!

That was a good one.
