Smart gun legislation in Maryland. I am sure other states will follow. Don't have to confiscate guns.

Right now the rifle team's guns are kept up at the high school under lock and key. That's where they should be kept. A couple of Marine JROTC instructors, a colonel and a gunnery sergeant, run both the JROTC program and the rifle program. (One doesn't have to be in JROTC to be in the rifle program.) I asked my kid what would happen if he were to goof off with the rifles. He said if any team member points the rifles at anything other than the targets, they're immediately off the team. (By the way, the best shooter on the team is a female.) He's had a nice pellet rifle for a few years. He doesn't need anything more powerful than that. I don't have any problem with target shooting. I used to shoot a little trap with a 12 gauge some years ago. I got a problem with yahoos who say they have a constitutional right to own 67 handguns and bazookas and AK-47s, and then leave their guns lying around without trigger locks, etc. for their kids to get in trouble with. I also have a big problem with all the yahoos who think they have a constitutional right to "live off the land."
