I used the word "significant" from an engineering point of view. I do not believe that the programmable register patent added much value to SDRAM, and I do not believe that they should receive any significant royalties for it. I am not a patent lawyer, and I may be proven completely wrong about this, but that is my personal opinion.

Once again, I do not know anything about DDR. The story may or may not be different there. The seemingly disproportionate SDRAM claims do not give me a good feeling about the overall IP picture however.
