Like a boa constrictor. Embracing and then as the at every breath of the prey, it tights the grip. First RBOCs drop prices and kill independent ISPs. Then they deprive some weaker CLECs of payments from ILECs. See, please my posting on the Last Mile Thread about bill, HR 4445. With all that going against CLEC's it begins to get hard and harder to finance expansion. But the boa is there to embrace Covad and Northpoint. Pretty soon the C of CLEC will be history. A telco is a 100 year+ old. They refined their startegy to perfection over the years. They know how to do it. ADSL runs over their copper plant, hence... The writing is on the wall.
