Zeev,

I already posted this comment to you: "Of course you can communicate at 1GHz over any distance you want, but not synchronously. When you look at the stars, your communication is delayed by many years."

Is it necessary to define the complete context of the conversation before each sentence? We were talking about SDRAM. Any knowledgeable computer person would understand the context when I said that you can't propagate a 1GHz signal more than 30cm.

Your failure to understand is not due to any error on my part, but rather due to your noble attempt to extend the bounds of your knowledge.

Inside a 1GHz microprocessor, clock skews are limited to less than 100ps. I'm sure you can figure out the very severe limitation this puts on wire length.

And yes, your implied remarks about the ignorance of EE's were quite possibly the most arrogant remarks I've seen on SI, coming from an educated man such as yourself.
