Pinocchio Cummings: Every time you respond to me your nose grows because you vowed never to respond to me again. Pretty soon your nose is going to be as long as an elephant's, the symbol of your sorry party. And then I will stop calling you Pinocchio and start calling you Dumbo.

I didn't say union dues were $5 a month. I said that the bookkeeping involved for deducting union dues is akin to deducting, say, $5 out of your check every week or month for United Way. You don't have to hire an extra person in bookkeeping department to deduct union dues from a worker's check. You know why? Because they have these fancy new machines called computers. Sheesh.

Why would any union worker want back money that goes for political purposes? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. That's the primary reason I'm a union member ... so the AFL-CIO and my smaller union can support candidates that stand up for the working man and working woman of America. Would the money be better spent supporting candidates who do NOT support the common working man and working woman? Sheesh. (Now picture me shaking my head in amazement at your lack of thinking.)

If you want to post salaries of union leaders, fine. It's a free country. But then post Dick Cheney's salary over the past five years(including stock options, etc.) next to Trumka's salary over the past five years. Then we'll see who the real Fat Cat is. Then we'll see who's really ripping off his constituency. This is another no-brainer, just like you.

Re: "I heard from a friend during the Caterpillar strike that productivity increased." You know why, don't you? In addition to hiring scabs, top management makes the mid- and lower-level lackeys get dirty, too. That's right. They got to go on the line and actually do some work instead of looking at their clipboards and straightening their ties.

How has Cat stock been doing lately?

When you say "I don't lie" ... whoops! ... your nose just grew another inch there.
