The reason why I mentioned that is because of the theory that one should believe the manufacturer.

I did and the result was not acceptable.

Refer back to your hypothesis as to why Frederick should get the OS that was reco'd. That is why Dell is included in the story; actually the reason why the story exists to be honest.

Tech support is famous to place blame; hardware blames software and software blames hardware.

Dell has good service, but tech support sucks at times. If they don't know a solution to a problem, you are better off figuring it out yourself. They don't seem to care, I had that problem with ATA Ultra drivers on a Dell I bought back in July 2000. I sent the machine back.

Dell has awesome service, if something breaks, they have no problem replacing it. They will bend over backwards in this department.
