Must admit to having some thoughts very close to those you presented. This weekend I spent a little time trying to compose a list of "exogeneous events" that could "bump" us out of this trading range "one way or the other". No surprise that the Bagdad Hitler wantabe came to mind. Another obvious mideast possibility stems from the continuing itch for conflict between Palestinian hot heads and Israeli hard liners. I finally gave up. The list got too long. <ng>

And remember, Saddam tried to kill Bush.

Remember the assasination attempt on Bush in Kuwait?
As retribution, Clinton had to unleash one of his
patented cruise missile attacks and flatten an
Iraqi base. (This was the one time that the Republicans
supported a Clinton attack).

Saddam hates Clinton, he hates Gore, but given
history he's *really* got it in for the Bushs.
Read "Republic Of Fear" - Saddam never forgets,
and he's an animal. So, if he thinks he can get
away with it, expect something prior to the election.

And if Bush wins I think he'll rue the day his
daddy didn't finish Saddam off. That was a costly
mistake that we're all still paying for.
