BTY in the tradition of my old (by our standards) post:

Message 14395733

I am having an increasing level of difficulty seeing how AMD is going to report less than a dollar a share in earnings this quarter. It can, its start up costs have been enormous, but those future earnings should become transparently obvious even to the densest of ANALysts (an oxymoron if I ever saw one [even if it is three words, oxymorons are restricted to only two words]) as what will be manifested very soon. I am not counting any capital gains in this number. The actual operating number is a "wild card"; things are still too dynamic to get my arms around them. Anything between $0.55 and $1.50 would not surprise me.

Patient Regards,

DARBES

re: "The IDE Plextors work very well...SCSI may not be what you need."

I may very well buy the EIDE version as you suggest. However, the cost is already at a threshold where a scsi alternative may not be excessively more costly. Also since I often do multitasking and other cpu intensive applications and since I easily fill up the IDE buses on the A7v board that I use, the scsi alternative (depending on the wait and premium) may not be an extravagance.

Also, I suspect that the cost of the Plextor that you are suggesting is not too likely to climb in price while I am finding this excuse to wait (PATIENTLY).

BTW the only Hard drives that I have purchased lately are IBM 307045's and 307030's .
