RDM - Thanks very much for the info on who owns the burnproof technology - and your observations that CDR is one of the few applications that does noticeably improve with processor speed - yes, good news for 1.2G Athlons, as the numbers of users of CDRWs is vastly larger than it was just a couple years ago - altho I doubt that few, if any, of the casual computer buyers are aware of this fact - I certainly wasn't till you pointed it out. BTW, I take it that in your post when you said,

I take that you meant to say the users *could not* tell the difference between machines of different CPU speeds, yes?
