Weird. The guy next door was just robbed at gunpoint, coming in his front door from being out for the day. Police cruisers on the street and a helicopter circling overhead, but not much they can do. Bad thing is that the same thing happened to someone else in the neighborhood just a couple of days ago, but we are just finding that out now. So it's someone with a MO, not someone smart, either, which is scarey. I say not someone smart because I think the neighborhood is probably slim pickings. This is the archtypal suburban neighborhood, almost no foot traffic and very little street traffic except during commuter hours. I've had the front door open all day long, but the screen door closed, for all the protection that means. Chris and the boys were at the Renaissance Faire, and I was home alone all day. I've been trusting in the dog to protect me, and fussing because the cats and Lizzie were constantly at the door asking to be let in or out. Chris and I went out a few minutes ago to get some things at the Safeway, we left the front door unlocked but closed, and had no idea in our minds but that the boys would be safe. And then after we came back we had the front door open again, and I was on the computer and he was elsewhere and came in and remarked about the noise of the helicopter and the lights the police cars so we went outside to see what was going on.

Now he's got the 22 and I've got the 32.
