We won the war, pronto. There was a judgement made not to go on to Bagdad. It is my understanding we felt it would insult our allies if we continued on. Saudi Arabia, etc.. I am mixed emotions about it and do wish Saddam was gone. I think we believed he would be removed by his own people and that did not work out. However, our military did their job as it was supposed to be done. General Schwarzkopf says the military has gone down significantly since then. Gore and Clinton would prefer the military work under the control of the United Nations command.
