I think that Satchmo was a superb singer. His trumpet playing is probably as good as it gets, but I think his singing was just as compelling. It’s not the tone or quality of his voice with which I’m concerned, it’s the soulful, swinging magic that he made with it. GGorillaGirl GGorillaGirl, I think this is where your argument will fall on deaf ears. To try to explain soul to Merlin is like trying to explain quantum physics to a dog.
