Neenny,

It's good to see you join the party!!

On many of your points you are "preaching to the choir". My position as pro-choice does not mean I would elect to undergo an abortion myself........I only wish to keep the option open for others.

Woman's health education is critical here and if you browse through some of the websites you will find much information.Proper health information could eliminate the vast majority of pregnancies thus greatly reducing the numbers of individuals contemplating abortion. Birth control and sex education could take us a long way in eliminating abortion.

Men's health education is also critical and would play a role in reducing pregnancies. But again, we have a social class division. Most educated women have a better knowledge of how to avoid pregnancy and have more incentive to avoid it also...ie: career, education, etc.

The 12 week into gestation guideline is certainly a valid target. I think it would serve to expedite most decisions and reduce the amount of medical complications and emotional scares. I know NO private physicians in my area that perform abortions. Candidates for the procedure must go to a clinic in a city close to me.
