Silly and truly obscene hypothetical. The question at issue is whether the million and a half woman who opt for an abortion each year should be compelled by governments to bear a child against their will. The issue is not a woman's rights, but governmental powers. If a government, any government, has the power to forbid abortions, it has also afforded itself the power to compel abortions. Do you believe in limited government, or do you not? Gut check time. For myself, I find there are lots of things in our society I heartily disapprove of, but will fight to the end to keep government out of. My beef with Bush on this question (and you and your colleagues) is the crass hypocrisy when you say you are for limited government, and yet endorse the expansion of governmental powers into the most private aspect of a citizen's life.
