ild, Back 18 months or so, I noted on this thread that I was buying a basket of small internut stocks and buying puts on the index. One of my basket was Verisign, and it has been a major reason why I made fairly nice money on that position instead of getting my head handed to me. I absolutely love this co. and think it has a great future.

That being said, over $200 a share! Get real, Janus! Unless they are hedging it, they are buying a perfect scenario. Never buy perfection, unless it is my Sweetie (whom I have to butter up after saying some bad stuff this weekend. <g>)

Nearly a third of all new equity mutual fund sales are going into Janus products. Would the other fund cos. rejoice to see them stumble? About the same way the other bond houses loved it when Drexel hit the skids. However, IMHO, a big disaster at Janus would be bad for the entire business and for the markets, in general. There are very few conservative fund cos. out there any more and they would definitely get a bad burn if Janus goes down in flames.
