Microsoft doesn't have an Oracle-killing database. All they have is a rendition of the old Sybase architecture that's been dragged face down through the MS bug farm and thereby called a "new product".

Windows media player is just another "just-another" product, one that could have come from nearly any Internet media company, and it's crippled by only being available on Windows and by the absence of open source code.

IMO, Microsoft needs to do an IBM before it finally settles to the status of just another player. I *might* buy when it hits $25 or so.
