My guess is that he followed the neighbor's car home, because the neighbor said the guy was behind him on the sidewalk when he walked to his front door from his car, and the guy ran back to a car down the street. Maybe the neighbor was at an ATM or a store earlier. Otherwise they'd have to be driving around at random, looking for people getting out of cars, and it was very late for a Sunday night, almost midnight. What are the odds they'd find someone getting out of their car with anything worth stealing? And he didn't go inside the house, didn't take the TV or anything, just took the wallet and ran. Too early to ask the neighbor, but I'll ask him later today.

You're right, Lizzie is a comfort because she does guard the turf.
