given the number of 1GHz units that intel sold (produced) relative to the total output numbers I do believe that their expectations were right on target.
As far as p4, intel itself gives very low unit guidance and possibly very high expense for those chips. Remember that the original release of p4 is for q3 so we are not talking about '01 but rather about the second half of '00, imho.
