Heinz, I agree. The more immediate issue, however, is getting permanent ballot access for Libertarian candidates. In many states, in order to be on the ballot, a party must win x% of the popular vote in the previous election. Failing this, the party must gather voter signatures to get an entry on the ballot. This procedure is ostensibly in place to discourage "frivolous" candidates, but the effect is to entrench the power of the two major parties. Currently, Libertarian candidates must spend most of their money and volunteer resources just to get on the ballot, let alone give public exposure to their ideas. -ng-
