Donaldm, my Lotus Smart Suite has an alarm as part of its 'organizer'. When the desired time comes [or x minutes before], a small window pops up on the computer screen and any chosen alarm sound plays. The program must be running but can be minimized.

I paid about $25 at an online auction for Lotus Smart Suite.
It has a word processor, spread sheet and some other stuff as well. A friend bought it just weeks ago for $10
Here is an auction listing it. I'd recommend the millenium edition.

Beats me how they auction it off so cheap. If you check online stores it costs MUCH more.

Donaldm

I just downloaded and tried out this simple little alarm program. It lets you set up multiple alarms and assign a wav file from your computer to alert you. Works fine and it's free.
