Justin, You won't find a good keg of beer being used to put out a fire around Texas. If something catches on fire, we just use it to cook the steaks to go along with the beer.

Poor attempts at humor aside, one of the most effective ways to get rid of fire ants, is to run pressurized, really hot, water down their tunnels. I have seen that done, and the ants don't come back. Any usual bug spray will not work for long. They have some treatments that are sprinkled on top of the mounds, but all they do is run the ants off into your neighbor's yard. Fire ants are much more durable than ordinary ants. ~H~
