Ron:

I have had some very interesting recent gabs with Dave Rovig, who runs this company. He is one of the best mining engineers I have ever met. Twice, he has done what we invest in him to do, which is to find and then prove up big deposits of gold. The first one was in Crown Butte and then of course again in Greystar.

The Greystar deposit is one of the largest gold deposits in the western hemisphere, but unfortunately, it is in Columbia. Few investors have even a particle of interest in gold (which suits me to a "T" for the present), and the Columbian connection further reduces the interest. As this gold deposit is still "open" and holds an immense "proven reserve", it is of significant interest to me.

Kinross has systematically acquired the stock (not that this has helped their stock which is also limping), so I guess I'm not the only one who thinks well of the play.

A few months ago, pressure from the shareholders caused management to explore a possible "tech deal" in China. In the end, David felt the deal simply didn't smell right and so it did not happen (I shared his concerns at the time).

Personally , I'd be just as happy if Dave just took a long holiday and waited for the inevitable takeoff of gold, but of course he prefers to be actively exploring (it's in his blood (g) ). Thankfully, the company will just sit on the gold deposit.

Will David be as successful at oil exploration as he has been at gold? I don't know, but at least he is now at work in a territory that is currently of interest to the markets.

Best, Earlie
