It has dropped nearly 700 points in a month and nobody outside of the small investor is concerned.

Au contraire, the small investor is so busy holding the bag that he is the only one that is sanguine about the decline...

I think the "new era" thinkers will undergo such a shellacking in the coming months, that they will wish they had never been born! Most of the little guys will get out after suffering losses of 70, 80, 90 percent or more.

Most sentiment readings I've heard lately have been very negative, esp. for the short term--I mean in the financial media, such as CNBC and CNNfn, not just in this Cave of the Bear Clan here. Seems like all analysts and their dogs are predicting a drop at least to the 3400 range, and I've heard 3200 mentioned several times. Even those who've been predicting a strong 4th quarter have been hedging. Only the "Investment Advisors" appear to be lagging.
