I rather prefer to believe that the market is over reacting to a real event. Some wafer-starts redirected towards other product now in severe short supply, would actually medium and long term be a benefit to the real economy. As is those wafer-starts still are ear-marked to feed the over-inflated forecasts from the mobile phone component hog. It would, however, create a short-term hick-up when the star sales guys concentrating on those easy home-runs report bookings below plan. Add to that a factory inventory position of any product for this sector and... I have heard of no changes from the production equipment sector and don´t expect any for now. Those contracts reflect long-term planning well beyond several wafer-start cycles.

Baird, what is your gut feeling right now, just an over-reaction or are we witnessing more than that? Looking at the memory sector today, MU, SSTI etc. gives me the jitters...
CY still holds up well in spite of large volumes SRAM shipped to the hand-held mobile and PDA sector!
