Bob - CPQ and HP, who ARE players, are also selling the Unisys 32-way box. I would expect this machine to have at least some penetration in accounts where CPQ and HP have a presence, if only to pave the way for their IA64 McKinley machines next year (or whenever Intel gets their IA64 act together). Both HP and CPQ have their own "big" McKinley machines (128 and 256 processor) on the roadmap in addition to the Unisys "merced" version and they need to start building awareness of the value of those large boxes. Those values include dynamic reconfiguration of processor and I/O resources, both for peak load management and for fault tolerance, and the ability to put more horsepower on a single job. This gives big customers a chance to verify the economic value for things like server consolidation, clean up the systems management, and provide headroom. When the IA64 machines come out, the additional benefit of very large memory and 64 bit operations get added to the mix.
