Gee guys, so much brouhahah and the SCON issue is not even a floorless, it has a floor of about $10.5. By the way, that is quite a chunk of money, I think that it can keep SCON afloat for about 2 years at their current burn rate. In two years, SCON might even have some sales (g). It is actually in the converts interest to let the stock float up (if they can in this market) and slowly hedge their position well above $20. If this market turns around here (after visiting the May lows? lower?), they could attempt get it to the $23 or so area, where it starts to make sense to hedge. Since the lower conversion rate does not kick in for 9 months, the converts have no reason to short under par (just under $18?), except for "fear of a meltdown", if they feared that during the next 9 months, they would not have bought this issue.
