<<I miss, from past times, is the critical analysis that appeared here from a number of people. >>

Yea! Where's Twister?

You want critical?

Apple needs to push an inexpensive consumer machine. The iMac line is getting there. The cube would probably sell more if they took the price down a few notches.

Apple's early success was in creating a simple all-in-one box/monitor combo with ready to go software.

Phase II of that success followed shortly thereafter when Apple built the DTP industry (print communications) by astounding the world with a laser printer that cost under $1000 in 1985, coupled with easy-to-use publishing software (PageMake 1.0).

They have re-created that success today with the iMac (Phase I). What will be Phase II?

My guess they will move away from the high-tech industry to something more hi-touch. Some kind of personal communications/productivity "thing". Will it be software to run on the iMac? Will it be a handheld device?

For it to really be a blockbuster, it must be a a total suprise.

Unfortunately, we want a hint.

Hi Ed, I would'nt sell at these levels either, as somehow AAPL always manages to come back strong when almost everyone thinks they are on the way out. Us "oldtimers" have been through this kind of thing before, so perhaps our tolerance for bear pain is better than for the "youngins". <grin> Yep, the older we get, the faster the neighborhood changes!
