Libya: Pipes Procured For Lundin Oil´s En-Naga field - Middle East Economic Digest, September 29

Germany's Thyssen Krupp Stahiunion has been awarded a contract to supply 94.5 kilo-metres of 12-inch linepipe by Lundin Oil of Sweden, operator of the En-Naga field. The new pipeline will link production facilities at En-Naga with the local Waha Oil Company's existing Samah production facility. The pipeline will feed the existing trunk line that transports oil to the Es Sider terminal on the Gulf of Sirte for export.

Prospective bidders for the pipeline construction package are understood to include Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) and Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P - Overseas), both Athens-based.

The En-Naga field is located in block NC177, in the southern Sirte basin.

Production of 410 API crude oil at a rate of 16,500 barrels a day (b/d) is set to begin by 2001. The field is expected to produce up to 24,000 b/d within two years of initial production.
