Re: "I'm not sure if they have design activity there - left over from the DEC StrongArm and chip set design groups"

They have a development site for SA, IXP and other related products. All gifts from DEC when Intel took them to the cleaners.

Paul: I didn't catch any specific job descriptions as I remember the ad being general in nature. What struck me was in this time frame of gloom and doom INTC was still hiring. And since it was on radio it would seem to be pretty extensive and broadbased. Now either INTC sees better days ahead or they are really screwed up or they plan on hiring here while laying off elsewhere. What I gather from this is that INTC's problems are temporary and they are typical of the indigestion a leading tech company has when developing so many different products while trying to integrate the new products into the old marketing matrix. AMD's task is pretty simple when compared to the scope and size and ambition of INTC's operation. Looks like a great buy here. Question is will it be a better buy tomorrow. The volume was huge again yesterday. JFD
