Burt,

Re: 1 GHz Piii

I saw one back in April or May, then, when I came back about a week later, there still was a sign 1 GHz Piii, but there was an Athlon based HP computer in that spot. Then there were months of nothing, Piiis in 666 to 733 MHz range with an occasional Sone 866. The last time I checked, Piii has reappeared. So I don't know if 1 GHz Piiis are here to stay, or if these sightings are a sign that the Piii has a comet like behaviour.

But I guess you believed that 1 GHz Piiis were here to stay in March, April, May, June, July, August, September and now in October - didn't you? Paul and Elmer did. So who is misinformed or foolish? It would be interesting to look up the boasts about 1.13 GHz Piii. It turned out that none of them were sold by Dell, and all IBM got were 40.

At some point I believe Intel will be able to supply sufficient quantities of these. Are we there yet? Time will tell

Joe

Burt, PC chains offering 1 MHz PIII-based computers from HP, IBM, Compaq

1MHz? Is this the result of the PIII mask glitch?
Competition is going to be 1200 times faster next monday.

Boris

PS. Do you ever do any reading before you post?
PS II. Couldn't resist. But Joe does good research, really. Don't call him foolish. There are almost no GHzPIII. This is factual. Face it.
