Well, we just hit new intra day all time lows in the XAU here at 48.39.

Amazing, that very few on this thread saw that coming.

All good questions, wish I knew the answer. One thing for certain, at some point US$ will weaken and when it does my gold shares will look a little healthier.

Richard, prudentbear.com add to your list the BLS and Commerce Dept. much of the growth and productivity miracle is a mirage - statistical in origin due to the use of hedonic pricing in computing chain weighted GDP. The U. S. also now capitalizes software instead of expensing it as Europe does . The US bubble promoters attempt to rationalize statistical manipulation but if we are going to compare growth rates with Europe we should use the same metrics. Finally ,the Bundesbank has estimated the impact of using hedonic pricing and chain weighted GDP on Germany's numbers and the great growth rate differential is diminished. as Clinton would say - i guess it depends on what you mean by growth. it is interesting that the government statisticians use hedonic pricing yet the companies report their numbers in nominal dollars not chain-weighted dollars!
