Since CT and MA are liberal and liberals turn their backs on the failings of their leaders I would expect he will do just fine. Glad I live elsewhere.

Here are some comments by Connecticut Democrats on Lieberman's selfish decision.

I am a longtime supporter of Joe Lieberman, dating back to his liberal incubation period. But now I must ask his counsel as I prepare for Election Day. My electoral standards are strict and monogamous: I can't vote twice for one person.

My suggestion here is that the senator simply indicate his first choice so I can ignore his runner-up office. This will help him honor his pragmatic choice to run for two offices while keeping me from engaging in frivolous voting.

I am a lifelong Democrat who is delighted that Lieberman is on the Democratic national ticket. I look forward to eight great years of a Gore-Lieberman administration. My support for Lieberman does not mitigate, however, the moral bankruptcy of his position to continue to run for the Senate in Connecticut.
Just because something is legal does not make it right. If Lieberman wants to claim the moral high ground, he had better start to behave in a moral manner.

Lieberman should stop being such a dog in the manger and let another Democrat use the senator slot - state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, for instance, who would be a shoo-in. Doesn't Lieberman have faith that Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore and he will win? He should stop hedging his bets and give up his safe seat, let some fresh air in.

These comments are from a three-generation Democratic family member.

Lieberman's dual candidacy is nothing more than a selfish, cynical attempt to assure himself of a job, any job. If the candidate himself doesn't believe he can win the vice presidency, why should voters believe it? Lieberman's run for both offices severely damages his credibility. Sadly, he has lost my vote for either office.
