Looking beyond gold and oil, foreign stock markets (and the European markets especially) should greatly outperform the US over the next few years. Their economies still have quite a way to go before they become overheated like the US is now. With the dollar likely to retreat sharply before long, the returns should be excellent for US investors -- although nothing like the recent move in oil stocks and the forthcoming move in gold stocks.

Thanks to Slider, Big, George, et.al. for your input.
The wealth of good commentary and background information regarding gold lately has been terrific. This window on another market offers huge opportunity even if you never participate in it. I have not felt that anyone was beating a hype filled drum or getting carried away. The support material referenced to these discussions leads to new sources that might not have been found otherwise. I appreciate the help mapping the new terrain, searching for the corners--some of which have money in them.
