FROM YAHOO 08:42 ET Chip Equip. Stocks : Wit SoundView downgrading Applied Materials (AMAT) and Brooks Automation (BRKS) to BUY from STRONG BUY.... Cutting Semitool (SMTL) and Nanometrics (NANO) to HOLD from BUY.... Firm does not believe earnings reports are at risk. However, next year's growth rates do not look as robust as originally expected. Wit SoundView still likes NVLS, LRCX, and TER.
