Richard, who in their right mind, would have a portfolio composed of gold stocks? Many "gold bugs" have a diversified portfolio, and some have made a lot of money in tech stocks to well offset the losses in their gold stocks. James Dines is one who comes to mind.

Now there would be a problem if the whole market tanked, including gold stocks. There you would get your wash out and some forced selling could happen.

That is part of the reason why I disagree with the thesis that a Market Crash is good for Gold Stocks. It is not good.
